Lesson 1: Ordering Quantities

Activities– Starter (5 mins): Quick activity – arrange 5 random numbers on the board in ascending order. – Main (30 mins): Teach ordering of integers, fractions, decimals, and negative numbers. Demonstrate number line approach. Practice comparing values using symbols. – Plenary (5 mins): “True or False” game with inequality statements (e.g., –3 < –5, 0.75 ⩾ ¾).

Time40 minutes: 5 (Starter) + 30 (Main) + 5 (Plenary).
